Granting Freedom of the City to HMS Sherwood PDF 190 KB Report of the Deputy Leader Minutes: The Deputy Leader submitted a report requesting full Council to grant Freedom of the City to HMS Sherwood, the East Midlands’ only Royal Naval Reserve Unit, as set out on pages 3-4 of the agenda. RESOLVED that this Council, by virtue of Section 249 of the Local Government Act 1972, wishing to continue to recognise and foster the close association between the city and HMS Sherwood, hereby confers upon HMS Sherwood the Freedom of Entry to the City and thereby the right to march through the streets of the city on all ceremonial occasions.
