Licensing Committee

Purpose of committee

The Licensing Committee oversees the development and application of the Council’s Licensing Policy (adopted by Full Council), ensuring it is in line with the Licensing Act 2003 and Gambling Act 2005.  It establishes Licensing Panels and the Special Licensing Panel to determine individual applications for licences in cases where objections have been received and when licences need to be reviewed.

 

The Committee meets as and when required and is made up of 13 councillors.

 

Meetings are open to the public.
