The Nottingham Castle transformation is a key strategic priority for the authority as presented in the Council Plan and Growth Plan. The project includes a number of elements including extension and upgrade of exhibition spaces, to include Robin Hood, restoration work to the Ducal Palace and Gatehouse and a new visitor centre.

The report is exempt from publication under paragraph 3 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 because it contains information relating to the financial or business affairs of any particular person (including the authority holding that information) and, having regard to all the circumstances, the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information. It is not in the public interest to disclose this information because it could prejudice future negotiations around the selection of operators for the Nottingham Castle service.
