The Appointments and Conditions of Service
Committee (ACOS) meets to determine local terms and conditions of
Council employees and procedures for disciplinary action and
dismissal. It undertakes the
appointment process for the Chief Executive, Deputy Chief Executive
and Corporate Directors and is required to approve proposals for
significant restructuring of the Council’s management
structure. Staffing management and
individual staffing decisions are the responsibility of Council
officers.
The Committee is made up of 8 councillors
appointed to reflect the political balance of the Council, with one
seat reserved for the relevant Portfolio Holder in matters
regarding the appointment of the Chief Executive or a Corporate
Director.
Meetings are open to the public.
