Letter of assurance for Nottingham City Homes Registered Provider regarding the leasing of private housing for use as temporary accommodation for statutory homeless households - Key Decision New!
Decision maker:
Leader of the Council
Decision due:
Not before 12th Dec 2019
Lead officer:
Rachael Harding
Notice of proposed decision first published: 04/12/2019
This decision will be taken under urgency procedures.
Reason for urgency: The item could not be included on a 28 Day Notice because NCC has requested NCH RP enter into lease agreements with private providers of accommodation to whom the council is currently paying a nightly premium rate in order to fulfil our statutory duties to families who are homeless in Nottingham. Setting up the lease agreement quickly is a high priority and a major part of the councils plan to reduce overspend on homelessness budgets. The lease agreement will enable the rental costs to be covered by Housing Benefit rather than homelessness grants. Without the agreement in place, the weekly cost to the council is c£34,000.
