The Committee agreed the minutes of the meeting held on 17 December 2019 as a correct record and the Chair signed them.

Report of Director of HR and Customer

Elaine Harrison, HR Consultant, presented the report, which detailed the Council’s Pay Policy Statement 2020/21, including information on pay and conditions for Chief Officers in comparison to the rest of the workforce employed on Local Government Services (LGS) terms and conditions.

Resolved

(1)  to note the report and that the Statement will be considered for final approval at Council on 09 March 2020;

(2)  that following publication of other Core Cities’ Pay Policy reports, the Director of HR and Customer be requested to forward to members a list showing how NCC compares in respect of the ratio of Chief Officer to non-Chief Officer pay.

Ana Maru, Employee Relations Specialist, presented the report, detailing the number, type and pension-strain cost of early retirements during the period 01 April 2018 to 31 March 2019.

Resolved that the report be noted.
