Report of Director of Community Protection

Additional documents:

Minutes:

The Committee considered a report of the Director of Community Protection, requesting the Committee make recommendations regarding the admission of children to the 2 films to be shown at a festival to be held at the Broadway Cinema during November 2015.

The films were:

·  ‘Apples from the Desert’ – a Hebrew drama with English subtitles;

·  ‘Dough’ – an English comedy/drama.

Members of the Committee had previously viewed both films in their entirety. Caroline Hennigan, representing Broadway Cinema, attended the meeting and was available for questioning.

RESOLVED that the Committee recommend:

(a)  ‘Apples from the Desert’ as suitable for general viewing, but with parental guidance as some scenes may be unsuitable for young children (akin to a British Board of Film Classification PG rating);

(b)  ‘Dough’ as suitable for viewing only by those aged 15 years and over.
