Committee details

There are 7 Area Committees, each covering a particular geographical region of the City (usually 3 wards). The West Area Committee is constituted by the Aspley, Bilborough and Leen Valley wards. All of the councillors from the wards in the designated region are members of the associated Area Committee, which appoints local community representatives to attend and contribute to its meetings. These include representatives of Nottingham City Homes tenants and leaseholders.

The Committee meets to discuss issues of local concern and how to improve its local area, and it is consulted on changes that could have a local impact. It oversees the spending of the Area Capital Fund and notes the funding from individual or joint Ward Councillor Budgets to support local initiatives.

The Committee usually meets 4 times each year and its meetings are open to the public.
