We the undersigned petition the council to We, the undersigned, urge Nottingham City Council to stop the planned closure of The Ridge Adventure Playground in Top Valley/Bestwood. The Ridge Adventure Playground has been a vital part of our community for years, providing children and young people with a safe, engaging, and positive environment to play, socialize, and develop essential life skills. Its closure would have a devastating impact on families and the well-being of our community, removing a key space that promotes physical activity, mental health, and social development.

Why The Ridge Adventure Playground Must Stay Open:
• It offers a safe and secure space for children and young people, keeping them engaged in positive activities.
• It plays a crucial role in promoting physical and mental well-being by encouraging outdoor play and social interaction.
• It supports working parents and families by providing a supervised and enriching environment for children.
• It helps reduce antisocial behaviour by offering a productive alternative for young people.
• It is a much-needed community resource that fosters inclusion and togetherness in Top Valley and Bestwood.
The closure of The Ridge Adventure Playground would leave a significant gap in community resources, disproportionately affecting local children who rely on it for play, learning, and support. We strongly believe that alternative solutions, such as securing additional funding or community partnerships, should be explored before considering closure.
We demand that Nottingham City Council:
1. Halt any plans for the closure of The Ridge Adventure Playground.
2. Engage with the local community partners to discuss ways to secure its future.
3. Explore alternative funding options to keep this essential space open.
4. Nottingham city council to conduct a review of the Management of the Ridge and decision-making process regarding closure!
