Highway Services 22-26 Sustainable Procurement Strategy Phase 2

Highway Services is responsible for the safe management of the Nottingham City’s highway assets.
In 2021 a wholesale service redesign was completed, including a new management model, a reduction in both FTE posts and operational costs. This redesign ensures that Highway Services is operating a lean cost effective solution for NCC, including a rebased affordable base budget, and delivering core service outputs.
Across Highways teams there are requirements to have support contracts and framework arrangements (contracts) in place for; plant, materials, resources
inclusion of low temperature materials for road surfacing, the use of recycled materials and targets on the use of electric vehicles.
This paper outlines the recommended Phase 2 Procurement Strategy to deliver essential highway services for this 4-year period.
