The current Independent Advocacy Service for
Adults is jointly commissioned by Nottinghamshire County Council
and Nottingham City Council and delivered by POhWER. The service is
known as Your Voice, Your Choice and Nottinghamshire County Council
are the lead agency regarding this contract. A Partnership
Agreement with Nottingham City sets out the framework for
collaboration and outlines each partners roles and
responsibilities. The current contract ensures all the local
authorities advocacy requirements are met. Councils have a
statutory responsibility to ensure the availability advocacy
services for vulnerable adults. Nottinghamshire County Council are
the lead commissioners for this service.
The current contract commenced on 1st October 2016 for a 3-year
period with an option to extend for up to a further 4 years. All
extension options have been utilised and the contract expires on
the 30th of September 2023.
This paper requests authority to enter into a collaborative
agreement with Nottinghamshire County Council, to enter the tender
process lead by Nottinghamshire County Council and to sign up to
their Framework and Call-off agreement.
