Additional Information

Devontay Okure, elected St Ann’s Ward councillor and Labour Party representative, brings over a decade of experience in commercial business development, consultancy, strategic planning, partnerships working and relationship management. His career began in financial services, where he quickly recognised systemic inequalities and economic deprivation of marginalised communities, fuelling his commitment for change and social justice. Moving into the public sector, he gained crucial insights into how political decisions impact local communities and the public sector and the services it delivers. As a passionate advocate for equality and diversity, Devontay has worked tirelessly as a proud trade unionist and Labour Party member to amplify the voices of underrepresented groups and communities. Founding his own community focused organisation focusing on social justice, economic empowerment and equality for all, with an aim of uniting and empowering communities, while driving meaningful political change from the grassroots.  Devontay is a people’s person, community leader and a strong voice and advocate for the St Ann’s community. He is passionate and driven by a deep commitment to improving the lives, opportunities, and outcomes of local families in St Ann’s. Cllr Okure works closely with his local constituents to advocate for change and development within the St Ann’s community.
