Committee details

The Regulatory and Appeals Committee is responsible for all of the Council’s licensing and regulatory functions (i.e. safety certificates for sports venues, taxi licensing, sex establishment licensing) other than those covered in the Licensing Act 2003 and Gambling Act 2005 (which are the responsibility of the Licensing Committee). The Committee is made up of 14 councillors appointed to reflect the political balance of the Council, and meets as and when required.
